Background:
Combe Church of England Primary School is a small rural school with most children coming from Combe village. The main school building built in 1860s and school house incorporated into main building in 1998. Church has allowed school to lease from adjacent field by offering two temporary buildings and sports field. All Year 5 and 6 children have opportunity to attend residential outdoor centre. Named as an outstanding school, for second time, in Ofsted annual report in 2005. The school has won Duke of Marlborough's Education Heritage Award in 2002 and Primary Strategy Network Award for mathematics (2005). Beacon status (2001); DfES achievement award (2001, 2002, 2003).
