Background:
St Mary's Church of England (Aided) Primary School is situated in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. The present school was established in 1991, after the amalgamation of the separate infant and junior schools. In September 2001 the school became a two-form entry school. As a church school it has strong links with the local church. Children make visits to St Mary's Church to take part in special services, such as the carol service and family service. The school offers after-school activities including clubs for French, netball, football, judo, line dancing, art, gymnastics and choral singing. Children also have the opportunity to go on residential trips and visits to theatres. The school has an active Friends of St Mary's parent-teacher association that supports school's activities by fundraising and organising events such as the Christmas Bazaar and Summer Fete. The school aims to create and maintain a stimulating, nurturing and happy environment, based on a Christian foundation.
