Wheatley Park School occupies a site in Holton Park with a Georgian mansion and extensive parklands, including a medieval moat and an ancient oak mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It draws pupils from a mixed rural and urban area immediately to the east of Oxford and a small part of Buckinghamshire. The school offers four languages including Latin. It has a vastly expanded computer network, installed in 2001, and a well-stocked library, which provides a centre for independent research and recreational reading. It has a wide range of sporting activities including cricket, soccer, rugby, hockey, volleyball, badminton, tennis, rounders, softball, athletics, gymnastics, trampolining, netball and basketball. The school aims to provide a secure and stimulating environment. The school is a specialist media arts college with particular strength in fine art and filmmaking. The sixth form is a particular strength, praised by Ofsted in 2003. The musical life of the school is very rich and numerous groups perform rock, pop and classical music.
