Background:
The school is housed in buildings, which have been extended over the years. It serves several villages, which together form the Church of England United Benefice known as Shires Edge. The grounds provide a very pleasant setting containing wooded play equipment, a sports field and extensive grassy areas with a swimming pool for summer use. A stream runs through the grounds with the help of community services. A range of After-school clubs is offered and the school is promoting cultural activities. The pupils' also support a number of charities and older children help with a luncheon club, which provides lunch for the elderly in the village hall.
