Background:
Cheney School was formed in 1972 by the amalgamation of grammar and technical schools. The school overlooks Oxford from the top of Headington Hill. The school'shares a floodlit artificial pitch with the adjacent Oxford Brookes University. It has a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including sailing at Farmoor, work placements, and a triennial sponsored walk. It has a wide range of clubs including aerobics, athletics, basketball, cricket, dance, football, netball, rounders, tennis, trampoline and fishing. The school curriculum covers the following subjects: art and design, biology, business studies, chemistry, design and technology, economics, English, geography, history. The school aims to provide a happy, safe and secure environment.
