Background:
Bledington Primary School is in the village since the 1930 but the present building only came into existence in 1876 when it began life as a boarding school. Facilities include a large playing field with wooded area, an adventure playground and a garden with greenhouse. There are a range of extra-curricular activities including netball, tag rugby, cross-country, football, tennis, cricket, rounders, music, French, art and craft. Various trips are organised throughout the year for each class. The school encourages links with the local community by inviting visitors into the school and taking part in local activities such as the Bledington spring flower show, Chipping Norton music festival and Bledington village fete. It also has strong links with neighbouring schools. At Bledington Primary School children thrive in a friendly, stimulating and enthusiastic atmosphere. Pupils are encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and others in partnership with home and wider community.
