Background:

Fir Tree is a small junior school located in the town of Wallingford. It is a community school that caters for children between ages seven to 11. The school has 16 computers in a special room devoted to ICT. In addition, all classrooms have an interactive whiteboard. Children have the opportunity to learn to play a variety of instruments such as the recorder, trumpet, drums, violin and cello. The school also offers a range of extra-curricular activities at different times throughout the academic year. These include football, judo, netball, drama, choir, dance, cookery club, French and basketball. The school has a very active and successful Parent Teachers Association whose aims include enhancing the pupil's educational experience and arranging social events.
