Background:
Wroxton Primary School buildings were constructed in 1963 to replace a Victorian building on the outskirts of a conservation village. Surrounded on three sides by farmland, pupils make use of its environment, including pond, abbey and church. The school is divided into three classrooms, a central hall and an extensive playing area to the rear. It offers a range of sporting activities, both as part of the curriculum and outside it, and sees athletics as a 'particular strength'. Music also holds a central place in the curriculum and many children play the recorder, brass and woodwind instruments. The Wroxton Recorder Ensemble plays in a variety of venues in and around Banbury. The school has raised money for a number of charities in the UK and abroad. Their is an on-going connection with a Christian orphanage in the Phillipines.
