The school was founded in 1956 and moved into 'excellent' new premises in 1993 following a major fire. West Kidlington Primary enjoys 'extensive' grounds and 'very positive' community links through an active Parent-Teacher Association and an 'open school ethos'. There is an 'excellent' playing field, hard surface areas and a hall in which physical education takes place. The school enters local and county competitions in sports and has achieved 'numerous' successes in soccer, netball and athletics. The list of extra-curricular activities on offer includes art, football, cricket, gardening, netball, recorder, drama, orchestra and choir.
