Background:

Gillotts was established in the 1950s and is the only secondary school in Henley-on-Thames. The over-subscribed school serves Henley and the surrounding area but also attracts pupils from parts of Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. The school has 'extensive' facilities for sport, has the Sportsmark by Sport England in recognition of the range and quality of its sporting provision. Gillotts is proud of its 'particular strengths' in the performing and expressive arts. The school aims to 'promote mutual respect' and places emphasis 'on giving pupils the skills to continue learning through life.' Children and adults working together to support learning in the broadest sense. Strong community atmosphere reflected in the vertical, family like tutor groups.
