Background:
Dry Sandford County Primary School is an attractive school in rural surroundings. The building consists of very spacious classrooms, a sizeable hall and lovely grounds that extend its learning environment. The school has an outdoor play area for children in early years and football, netball and short tennis pitches for older children to enjoy. Its pond and large areas of open space are often used to take learning outside and enhance the children's experiences. The school uses the villages of Dry Sandford and Wootton for local studies, as well as making educational excursions into Oxford and surrounding areas. There is an active Parents and Teachers Association to which all parents are welcomed. The association has been very successful in raising funds and in organising a wide range of activities. After-school clubs are organised throughout the year and the clubs permanently available include recorders, judo, football, dance and netball. The school aims to provide a happy, calm and stimulating atmosphere where children can develop enquiring and lively minds.
