Background:
The school is located in the small village of Hornton, which is in a steep-sided valley about seven miles north west of Banbury, and takes children from Hornton and other local villages. The old school building is divided into two classrooms, each with its own art and reading/quiet area and there is a third classroom adjacent to the School House. The School House houses the school library and the Peach Tree Playgroup and is also used by the school for assembly, hymn practice, music practice, cooking and meetings. There is a tarmac playground for PE and netball practice and a grassed area which includes a pond and wildlife garden. Hornton is a member of the Warriner Partnership which comprises the Warriner School and the nine primary schools in its catchment area and believes 'a happy school is one where hard work and encouragement are coupled with the child's normal curiosity and eagerness to learn'.
