Background:
Faringdon Junior School is situated in a small market town midway between Oxford and Swindon. It has ten large classrooms and two halls well equipped for physical education, drama, assemblies and dining. It also has a computer suite consisting of 17 computers with an interactive whiteboard. The school playgrounds are extensive with several hard play areas, a large grass playing field, and a 'quiet garden' all surrounded by mature trees and hedges. The pupils work in the ICT suite for 2 hours a week either learning specific ICT skills or using the internet for research. A broad range of activities is provided for children throughout the school year, which compliment and extend the statutory areas of the curriculum. It also has a good programme of after-school and lunch clubs such as football, netball, athletics, swimming, art, languages, book clubs, line dancing, computers, woodcraft and many more. At Farington Junior School the pupils will be happy, value and respect themselves, others and their environment.
